Country Home

This was a huge historic restoration project; a 1706 Connecticut farmhouse that had been almost destroyed in a fire was rebuilt and designed.

It was such a complex project it took almost two years to complete.

First, we had to restore the original section of the house which was on the national registry. Then we created a whole new addition which blended seamlessly into the older space.

In keeping with the period, the walls were plastered and the wide plank floors were lime-washed. We incorporated original details like antique barn doors.

The home was furnished with some of our finest Scandinavian antique pieces.

This was an exciting project and perfect for us, as we were able to bring in our knowledge of the period details, which we then overlaid with the practical considerations of designing unique, livable spaces.
