Augarten Wien porcelain is known for refined tableware and decorative pieces, with delicate forms, painted decoration and gilded detail; plainer factory ware sits under decorative objects. We keep Augarten at Eleish Van Breems Home for a dressed, formal table where the decoration leads.
Which qualities matter in Augarten porcelain?
Augarten porcelain can be chosen for its fine forms, painted detail and gilding; compare plainer factory ware under bowls. Consider the decoration, proportions and overall design when selecting a piece for your table or collection.
How does Augarten porcelain suit a formal table?
Augarten porcelain suits a formal table as fine white and gilded pieces set under simple flowers and plain linen, letting the painting and gilt lead the eye, built into a dinnerware set. Keep the cloth and glasses quiet so the porcelain stays the point of the setting.
How should Augarten porcelain be looked after?
Augarten porcelain should be washed carefully by hand in warm water with a mild soap, kept out of the dishwasher and microwave according to the care requirements of the piece, and stored with felt between plates; simpler ware sits under mid century ceramics. Follow the care appropriate to the porcelain, decoration and finish.
