Ashley Hicks + Martina Mondadori's Traveling Chair

We were inspired by the chair’s baroque shape to look at historic interiors of the early 18^th century. We painted faux marble intarsia in the wood backs, preserving the grain by staining them in coral red and sage green.

For the Traveling Chair exhibit, Ashley Hicks & Martina Mondadori customized two Draken Side Chairs by Eleish Van Breems. Their red and green chairs are available on the Cabana website. Saz Paisley Velvet and Floralia fabric both by Cabana x Schumacher.
