This retail space is our store in Westport. It had been a granary, a warehouse space with train tracks running beneath the floor. It was totally abandoned when we found it but we fell in love with it and completely reimagined and rebuilt it.
The walls are all clay, rather than plaster, so they absorb moisture and are a natural, sustainable material. We added French oak floors, rewired the entire building, incorporated LED lighting and even replaced the roof.
The most notable interior feature is the loft space that runs almost the full length of the store.
This allowed us to create offices and workspaces while not reducing the store footprint, enabling us to display our antiques and décor in a warm, home-like environment.
